DERMAL FILLERS

Most dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is injected under the skin to recreate lost fullness by replacing naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. As we age, the body breaks down hyaluronic acid quicker than it can make it. Hyaluronic acid helps volumize the skin thus creating a smooth texture which softens wrinkles and creases.

TREATMENTS

Treatment results are instant. How long the results last depends on the type of filler used. Results are not permanent and the body will break down the filler over time. In some rare cases a person may break down the filler products very quickly.

LIPS

SHAPE: Nick can enhance and define the shape of your lips always achieving natural-looking results.

VOLUME: Nick can focus the treatment on adding natural looking volume to your lips. For those wanting fuller lips, regular treatments over time are advised. This builds up layers of filler and avoids a shapeless ‘sausage like’ appearance.

CHEEKS

STRUCTURE: Nick can help refine your cheekbone structure, building on your natural bone structure.

VOLUME: For those with a thinner face, Nick can add volume to the cheek area.

NASOLABIAL LINES

Nick smoothes the creases that run from your nose to the corner of your mouth.

MARIONETTE LINES

Nick reduces and softens the creases that appear to give you a downturned mouth.

DERMAL FILLERS

YOUR TREATMENT

Nick will already have meticulously mapped out your face during the consultation. He will carefully mark up exact injection points on your face. Clinical photos are then taken before applying numbing cream and/or ice to keep discomfort levels to an absolute minimum. This along with Nick’s gentle injecting style helps keep treatments as comfortable as possible. Treatments involve a number of small injections.

To finish, Nick then uses his magic touch to massage the filler into a natural looking finish. Results are immediate, although you should bear in mind that it can take up to 2 weeks for the desired result to settle and be achieved.

FAQs

What products do you use?

During the consultation process Nick considers and carefully selects the best products to meet your requirements. He favours products in the Juvederm, Restylane and Teosyal ranges due to the tried and tested results they give and that patients trust.

What is the aftercare for dermal fillers?

  • Bruising and swelling (especially those having the treatment for the first time).
  • To reduce the risk of bruising you should not drink alcohol in the days leading up to your treatment and for a few days after
  • Apply ice on and off until swelling has subsided
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid sunbeds

How long do fillers last?

Filler results vary in longevity, depending on which product is used on which site. You should expect to return every 3-6 or 6-12 months depending. There are now products on the market that can last longer and Nick can discuss this with you at your consultation. You should also be aware that whilst rare, some people break down filler products very quickly.

What are the risks?

Any non surgical aesthetic procedure carries risks. The treatment site might look red bruised and swollen but this normally subsides quickly. More serious complications are rare and these will be explained to you at the time of your treatment. The fact that you are choosing Nick who is talented, insured and experienced injector helps balance out any risks still further.

Facial Aesthics Women vs Men

Nick has a trained aesthetic eye and has honed the different techniques required to expertly treat both men and women. He has a loyal patient base of both sexes. One thing that all Nick’s patients have in common is their trust in him to deliver ‘natural refinement’. The way in which this is achieved however differs between male and female clients. Men and women have anatomical variations

  • Men generally have stronger facial musculature and metabolise the product in a different way to women. Therefore men normally require more toxin product than women.
  • Men often have a higher or receded hairline requiring a modification of the injection sites.
Understanding how treatments can masculinise or feminise the face
  • Filler treatments in particular can be used to alter facial proportions and this has the ability to masculinise or feminise the face.
  • Fuller lips and over enhanced cheekbones, for instance, can feminise the face.
