Polynucleotides are a regenerative medicinal treatment which stimulate the reconstruction and repair of damaged tissue. Polynucleotides harness filtered, ultra-purified and sterilised natural DNA fractions which initiate your body’s natural fibroblast production. This, in turn reduces inflammation and encourages the production of the skin’s natural proteins: hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin.

Polynucleotides are used to improve the signs of skin ageing. They have a long term highly positive effect on skin health, elasticity, hydration and texture.

They are particularly useful when used to:

1. Counteract dark circles under the eyes

2. Treat scarring

3. Strengthen hard to treat areas of thin skin (e.g. around lips)

4. Treat rosacea, sun damaged and hyperpigmented skin

The mode of action of these products is different. Skin boosters are primarily hyaluronic acid (and some even contain amino acids). Skin boosters add soft volume and have a hydration effect. However, they do not have the same LONG TERM type of regeneration action as polynucleotides.

Polynucleotides have been used worldwide since 2015 and are a well-established, effective and safe treatment. Moreover, they can even be used on those for whom dermal filler is contraindicated. Lastly, polynucleotides often come as a water-based solution not a gel, therefore they are not associated with nodules or biofilms (as can be the case with dermal filler).

At least 3 sessions 14 days apart. Some people may need up to 4 sessions. Much depends on the degree of ageing the tissue has and the skin's ability to create quality tissue when stimulated . Many people combine polynucleotides treatment with skin boosters (alternating treatments each week). This way they achieve an immediate and long-term effect.

Even though polynucleotides have proven excellent long-term benefits on banking collagen production, some collagen is still being lost due to the ageing process. As such a refresher treatment is advised every 6-9 months.

Results will be visible from around 6 to 12 weeks (and sometimes notably longer) after the end of the course of treatment. This is because they work on a cellular level over time, rather than acting like dermal fillers which replace lost volume in the short term. Full results can be expected at least 3 months later.
